For those of you with a video camera on your Mac or a stand alone webcam, Google just released GMail Video Chat.

I just tried it out by plugging my old Logitech Quickcam into a USB port, going to this site, installing the plugin for the browser (Firefox, Safari, IE and Chrome should all work), restarted the browser, logged into GMail, made some configuration changes (easy), and called someone up.

It worked, and the set up took me under three minutes. I’m impressed with the quality. Enjoy the new Internet toy of the week.
