Binden embellishes story about tragic loss

September 5, 2008

As many of you know, Joe Biden’s first wife and young daughter were killed, and his son’s seriously injured, in a tragic motor vehicle crash in 1972. Recently, I do remember news reports that a drunk truck driver hit the family.

Here’s the issue, just after the crash in December of 1972 and investigation did not come up with a cause. As a matter of fact, they specifically state that alcohol was not a factor. I can’t imagine what this would have been like for Biden - must have been terrible - but why embellish the story to include reference to a drunk driver?

Media describes Palin budget increase as cut

September 3, 2008

Slashed funding. Budget cuts. Reduction in needed services. Increased class sizes. Shorter library hours. All of these statements are code words used by the liberal left to scare the crap out of senior citizens, school parents and unions. If you don’t agree to tax increases, your precious services - that can only be provided by the government - will be slashed.

The problem is, many of these statements are used to cover lies and misrepresentations, often supported by liberal media hacks. A great example is Paul Kane’s drive-by-media article on how Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska and vice presidential nominee, “slashed” funding 20 percent to Covenant House Alaska. Read more

Republican platform released - reaches #98,642 on Amazon

September 2, 2008

For those unfamiliar with national political conventions, it’s not all about speeches and parties. Well, alright… for most of the attendees it really is all about speeches, parties and the ability to wear goofy hats on national TV. One of the agenda items is to write and vote on the party platform. But who will take the time to read this?

The party platform - Wikipedia actually refers to it as a manifesto - defines what the party stands for and believes in. I guess you could call it a project plan for the next few years until it comes time to come up with another one. There are no specifics of course, but for conservatives, you’d think that the U.S. Constitution and it’s amendments would be a good starting point. Read more

Obama and McCain answer the question - does evil exist?

August 18, 2008

On July 16, I asked someone - anyone - to ask Obama one question. Does evil exist? It took about one month, but Rick Warren - during his Faith Forum Saturday night - asked both Obama and McCain the question. It’s a valid question and one that many liberals try to weasel out of.

Of course, Obama provided a very thoughtful answer that did not answer the question. When asked the question if evil should be ignored, negotiated with, contained or defeated, Obama said we should confront it. We should confront it? What the heck does that mean? As far as I can tell, that could mean that we yell at them from across the courtyard - leave us alone!

Yeah, that will work wonders. Read more

Following moral compass critical for leadership

August 8, 2008

John Edwards - former senator, vice presidential, and presidential candidate - has been caught like a deer in the headlights. He’s admitted to having an affair for a short period in 2006 with Rielle Hunter after saying no, no, no for awhile now. Listening to reporters this evening on Fox News, the sentiment was pretty consistent. Everybody felt pretty bad.

How can you not feel bad for the Edwards family? The people who knew about the affair - including Edwards’ wife Elizabeth - were trying to keep it a quiet and private. Although nobody on TV was willing to attack Edwards for lying, sweeping this type of information under the rug and avoiding reporting on it all together may pose an opportunity for bad people to bribe those in public office.
